Hi, I’m stuck due to a new feature: refuses to install because of VMWare Workstation Pro 10, which I’m forced to use at least until for fiscal reasons. How can I bypass the blockage? It would be nice if someone could help me. Once this was done the Windows 10Pro upgrade went fine.

The VM Player wasn’t among the uninstallable options of the Windows programs. Well I ran in the same trouble. I found version 12 of the product, Installed it and de-installed it immediately afterwards both using the downloaded installer.

That solved the issue. Most likely updates from version 12 up to 15 left some residu behind, which was cleared using the proper removal procedures. VMWare I suspect that Microsoft might will not release update for compatibility with VMWare I would suggest to use Hyper-V as virtual machine tool, but your system version should not be Windows 10 Home.

The newer versions of VMware do not support Windows and the bookkeeping program used until does only run on Windows Consequence: Microsoft is forcing me into an inacceptable risk.
