Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. I have tried all this to no effect. Windows and Office are up to date; tried default parameters created by Outlook for my Gmail accounts. Windows 10 Mail always has the ‘missing’ emails and has the sort of responsiveness I am looking for, but it is not clear if this facility will work offline, nor can I find out how to set up a distribution list – if I could use Mail I would ditch Outlook Is there a Q hidden there?

You are using a mail account that doesn’t fully abide by the standard IMAP protocols. Threats include any threat of suicide, violence, or harm to another. Any content of an adult theme or inappropriate to a community web site. Any image, link, or discussion of nudity.

So there is no problem with Outlook It is just that I need to change my imap account from the most-used server in the world to something that Outlook is happy to work with? This post is an addendum to my comment on 27th August written 14th September : Outlook had no problem with Gmail imap; nor does Windows 10 Mail or the email clients on my Android devices. Not only is Outlook sluggish, it seems to record multiple and identical copies of emails I have developed over a period of time in the Sent folder; it will not bring up a blank email form when I click on an email address as would do ; and there is no reliable way to easily reduce the size of attached photos to reduce the transmission time of the email.

I find it difficult to believe that Outlook is intended to be an inferior product to Outlook , but am very unlikely to continue with the product as matters stand. Has anyone encountered this before? And how did you fix it? Outlook is installed on the computer and is using PST files. Is this using local PST files? I would imagine that this is part of the problem. Not a lot of information to go on here. How big is the pst file?
