If you were looking for large improvements over Emergency: Fighters for Life, you won’t get it. There is no pre-incident scenario, so you always have the same fire engine and ambulance at every scene.

I would have liked to have had a few stations with different apparatus that you could choose. Then when playing, there are several problems. The firefighters can’t multitask, so you have to constantly tell each of them what to do. Then they get tangled up in eachother, walls and other objects. So, you think they are doing something, when in fact, they are just running around in circles. Then, you can’t bring hoselines into a building, you have to use backpacks.

That’s a bit ridiculous. If they wanted to make the game more realistic, they could have had a drop in hydrant pressure for multiple hose lines or something.

Airpacks instead of water backpacks would have been more realistic. The graphics are good and the game does have an element of fun to it. But from a firefighters point of view, the game is disapointing. I managed to beat the game on all three dificulty levels in the span of a couple of hours. I felt like it was the biggest waste of my money on a sim that I have made in years. Many of the functions such as shovelers are a total waste of time as the fire will either be put out or spread before they are of use on the one mission they can be used on.
