Can you advice on how I can go about doing this? In your original post you mentioned that you have moved on to be self-employed that means you must have a new Microsoft subscription. If this is so, with the new subscription you must have a new work or school account which means you have a completely new log in credentials. In this case, may I know how your old mobile linked to your new Microsoft account?

Authentication apps continually generate new codes that are valid for around 30 seconds. I keep getting an invalid code error. You need to make sure the time on your authenticator device is in sync with Xero. Xero uses an automatic clock service to set the time, as do most mobile device service providers, so we recommend you allow your network provider to set the time automatically.
Manually setting the time can lead to out-of-sync issues and an invalid code error. Using the Google Authenticator app does not link your Xero account to Google, and does not require you to have a Google account.
During setup, Xero generates a new QR code or setup key to enter into your authentication app. If you lose your phone or device that has your authenticator app on it, we recommend you change your Xero login password.
If you use security questions as your backup authentication method, you might also want to change your security questions. When you get a new device, set it up with MFA. If MFA is mandatory for you, you’ll need to do this before you use Xero. You can use your backup authentication method to log in to Xero until you’re all set up.
