As long as you don’t open ports on your router forwarding then the router firewall takes care of incoming requests. The standard GFH iptables firewall allows any outgoing requests that are initiated from the GFH, so as long as you deleted that crontab line to pull in files from Latvia then you should be all good.

The GoFlex Home has a battery to to store the time but it probably died years ago. You could crack open the case and replace it but the easier option is to allow ntp to do its job. Until recently, all three shares have been accessible in Win10 and have had drive letters mapped.

Now, only Public is accessible from windows. The other two shares exist on the GFH drive and accessible via the web app. It sounds like a Windows issue.
